DIAGNOSTIC CLARIFICATION & TREATMENT PLANNING

Psychological assessment is a great tool for narrowing down appropriate mental health diagnosis, enhancing efficacy of therapy, and informing psychotropic medication needs. It offers insight to the client and provider, in order to provide the most appropriate and helpful services and resources. Psychological assessment can help guide the direction of therapy and provide focus for goal setting and treatment planning.

ADHD & Autism Testing

Assessments of attention, intelligence, learning, and social-emotional differences serve as vital tools in identifying and understanding the needs and strengths of individuals. Evaluations can be requested by individuals, students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel to help promote effective learning and educational development. They allow opportunities to ask questions, seek clarification, and receive resources to best support further education. Assessments and written reports offer a clear layout of individual strengths, areas of growth, and needs along with recommendations to help develop appropriate curriculum, educational planning, and behavioral modification.

FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT FOR DISABILITY Evaluations

Evaluations for mental health disability are assessments used to determine if an individual is eligible for disability benefits due to a mental health condition. This evaluation process involves a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s mental health history, current symptoms, and functional limitations within a work setting. The goal of the evaluation is to determine the severity of the individual’s mental health condition and how it affects their ability to work. The evaluating psychologist considers factors such as the individual’s ability to concentrate, their memory and thinking abilities, their ability to manage stress, and their ability to interact with others. The evaluation results are used by the disability agency to decide on the individual’s eligibility for disability benefits. Further, the evaluating psychologist will provide recommendations for treatment and supportive services to help manage their mental health condition and improve their ability to function.

Psychotherapy

Utilizing humanistic, cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic approaches, Dr. Pease and other psychologists of Capitol Psychological Assessment offer psychotherapy to help individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions and other major stressors. Our work is client-centered with our goal of working side by side with the client to develop insight, understanding and effective tools to improve the quality of their life. Through collaboration, validation, genuine support and gentle challenging, we work together to empower change.

FitNESS for Duty Evaluations

Fitness for duty evaluations are requested by the current or potential employer in order to determine the individual’s ability to safely and competently complete their assigned job duties. The psychologist evaluates to determine if a psychological condition is present and if so, the level of impairment it may have on an individual’s ability to work. These evaluations are valuable to the employer, employee, and co-workers of a business, as these evaluations help to insure the well-being of an individual before entering or re-entering into a work place and in turn, insure productivity and safety for all employees and supervisors.

POST Peace Officer Psychological Screenings & Evaluations

Pre-employment peace officer psychological evaluations are commonly mandated in compliance with federal and state law, regulations, and professional standards. These evaluations help to ensure the safety and well-being of the community and all individuals working in public safety. These evaluations help to determine strengths and weaknesses of applicants to determine if they are appropriately suited for a career in law enforcement and public safety.
